About the Role

At byteXL, we're seeking a Head of Operations to lead our end-to-end operational strategy, drive efficiency across teams, and enhance our relationships with colleges and institutional stakeholders. In this key role, you will ensure that internal execution aligns with customer expectations and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the operations function, overseeing strategy, execution, and delivery across product, sales, delivery, and finance.

  • Build and manage a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and results orientation.

  • Serve as the primary byteXL representative in client-facing interactions, particularly with college management, TPOs, HODs, and Deans.

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement through data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback.

  • Develop and implement SOPs across key workflows, including delivery, reporting, invoicing, and student engagement.

  • Create and monitor performance dashboards, ensuring visibility of weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational metrics.

  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection processes, collaborating with finance and account managers.

  • Provide internal teams with data insights derived from student engagement and college program usage.

  • Promote cross-functional alignment, eliminating barriers between product, delivery, sales, and leadership.

  • Anticipate risks and proactively resolve issues, maintaining business continuity and customer satisfaction.

  • Represent Operations in leadership meetings, contributing to high-level strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in operations, ideally in edtech, SaaS, or B2B service organizations.

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build, scale, and lead teams effectively.

  • Experience collaborating closely with clients—especially large institutions or B2B accounts.

  • Strong analytical mindset; ability to work with data, reporting tools, and decision-making dashboards.

  • Familiarity with basic accounting, invoicing, and collections workflows.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.

  • High ownership, bias for action, and ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Bonus if you have

  • Experience building an operations function from scratch.

  • Prior experience working with engineering colleges or in the education sector.

  • Hands-on experience with CRM, ERP, or data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
